About me
A translator shaped
by multiple cultures
I am a Portuguese and English sworn and freelance translator with double native fluency, acquired since childhood in a bilingual environment. I offer freelance and sworn translation services, as well as proofreading. I am also accredited by the Brazilian Association of Translators.
My answer to “where are you from?” depends on context… just like a good translation!
Born in Malaysia , I was privileged to have contact with the two languages at home and at school from an early age. At the age of 11, I moved to Brazil , my mother’s home country, where I graduated in journalism and worked as an EFL teacher. And as if my story wasn’t unusual enough already, I also live part-time in Italy. This multilingual and multicultural background is a valuable asset in my work.
My training in journalism and experience in the classroom mean that I deliver texts with attention to detail and due research —whether it’s getting the right terminology or deciding if that hyphen is really needed— while ensuring that they communicate effectively.
As a language enthusiast, I am currently studying Italian, will eventually get back to French, and hope to one day recover the Malay I spoke as a child.
